Boozy Book Series at Amor y Amargo | Citysip

Sother Teague (a.k.a. @creativedrunk) has curated a book signing series at Amor y Amargo in the East Village, where he runs the bar. Five esteemed authors will be on hand for each of the next five Tuesdays to sign their books and answer questions, and each night there will be a special $10 cocktail offering based on the book and/or author on the premises. Mark your calendars!

October 16th:? Brad Thomas Parsons, Bitters, A Spirited History of a Classic Cure-All, with Cocktails, Recipes, and Formulas, winner of the 2012 James Beard Foundation Book Award for Beverage and winner of the 2012 IACP Cookbook Award for Wine, Beer & Spirits. Drinks from the book will be featured for the evening.

October 23rd: David Wondrich, Imbibe! Wondrich, a winner of the James Beard Wine and Spirits award, will be serving an Improved Hollands Gin Cocktail featuring Pierre Ferrand Dry Cura?ao, which he helped create.

October 30th:? Dushan Zaric, Speakeasy, The Employees Only Guide to Classic Cocktails Reimagined.? Zaric co-owns legendary NYC bar Employees Only, and he?ll be featuring negronis made with newly-launched Ford?s Gin. November 6th:? Jim Meehan, The PDT Cocktail Book, The Complete Bartender?s Guide from the Celebrated Speakeasy. Jim, who operates the nearby cocktail den PDT, will be featuring drinks using Banks Rum.

November 13th: Jason Wilson, Boozehound, On the Trail of the Rare, the Obscure, and the Overrated in Spirits. Jason is the spirits column writer for The Washington Post. His featured drink is still in the works, but rumor has it, there may be some Cynar involved.

Amor y Amargo is at 443 East 6th Street between 1st Street and Avenue A in the East Village. Authors will be on hand from 6:30 ? 9 p.m.
