Note: these are all addressed to myself, so "you" is actually "me." However, if they ring a bell for you, feel free to take them to heart.
- The only muffin worth getting is cranberry orange; anything else will be a disappointment. Don't waste the money or the calories.
- A hard-boiled egg, piece of cheese, or yogurt shot is always a more satisfying snack than a granola (or, heaven forbid, candy) bar.
- Except when it isn't. If chocolate is what you crave, eat the damn chocolate. Otherwise, you will end up eating something else ... and then eating the chocolate on top of it. Just eat a reasonable portion and don't "forget" to account for the calories elsewhere.
- Milk, juice, beer, wine, and other beverages with calories are food. Account for them accordingly.
- You feel 100% better when you stretch morning and night. So stretch. I don't care how engrossing that chapter is. It only takes five minutes.
- You feel 100% better when the house is neat and more or less clean. So take that half-hour every Saturday and tidy things up.
- You want to do a walkover. So don't skip the lower-ab exercises just because they are a drag. (If you don't do the work to get what you want, you don't deserve it and shouldn't whine about how you can't do it yet.)
- Walk like a dancer.
- Work standing up at least five minutes per hour.
- The oatmeal for breakfast thing works. Keep it up.
